Medical marijuana may soon be made available on a limited basis in New York State. The New York Times is reporting that Governor Andrew Cuomo will announce plans to legalize medical marijuana in the state during his State of the State Address on Wednesday. Cuomo has long been a vocal opponent of such legislation, but the issue has gained growing support statewide. This move could create significant support for the Governor as he seeks re-election in November.

Details of the plan are not complete, but indications are that medical marijuana would be made available for a limited number of circumstances and through as few as 20 hospitals.
