The Niagara County Jail is facing a pair of lawsuits connected with the deaths of two inmates last year. Tommy Lee Jones, Jr. and Daniel Pantera both died from medical conditions while in custody for low-level legal troubles in December 2012. Jones was being held for a parole violation. Pantera was being charged with obstructing governmental administration. Both lawsuits charge that necessary medical attention was denied the men and led directly to their deaths.
Officials claim that a report from an investigation is due in the spring.
