Car collides with Metro bus, injuring many

WBFO News photos by Eileen Buckley

An accident involving a car and an NFTA Metro bus in Buffalo Tuesday morning resulted in several minor injuries.

Eight passengers were injured, as well as the driver of the car that crashed into the bus on Bailey Avenue at Wecker Street around 10 a.m.

NFTA spokesman Doug Hartmayer says the investigation is ongoing and the driver of the car may face charges.

"The preliminary indications are that there was the possibility of an illegal turn causing the accident," Hartmayer told WBFO News.

Hartmayer says cameras from the bus will be reviewed by the accident investigation team and the two drivers will be interviewed, along with witnesses from the scene.

None of the injuries are considered serious. The driver of the car and several passengers were taken to a local hospital.
