The National Weather Service has lifted the weather warnings for most of Western New York. However, in Chautauqua County, a Lake Effect Snow Warning has been reduced to a Lake Effect Snow Advisory that will be in effect until 7 o'clock tonight. Higher elevations in that area could experience another 4 to 7 inches of snow Sunday. Overnight snow fall totals for Western New York proved to be light with most of the snow falling in areas to the east of the region. The City of Buffalo received just a dusting of snow.

Officials issued a code blue for the overnight hours as temperatures dipped and wind chills brought about freezing conditions. The City Mission opened its doors to those without shelter, offering a warm place to stay overnight along with a hot meal.

Light snows are predicted again for Buffalo today along with continued gusting winds.
