Bills fan falls from upper deck at Ralph Wilson Stadium

A Buffalo Bills fan plunged from the stands at Ralph Wilson Stadium during Sunday's game in Orchard Park.

A video was rolling when the incident occurred. A person initially appeared to be sliding down a railing from the 300 level then fell below to the 200 level and landed onto another person.   http://youtu.be/2MgwSj6c4uE

The incident happened at the start of the second quarter of Sunday's game against the New York Jets.

The Buffalo Bills released a statement Sunday saying both people were taken to an area hospital:

"In the second quarter of this afternoon’s Bills/Jets game a fan fell from the 300 level to the 200 level and landed on another fan. Bills staff responded to the incident immediately and were soon joined by emergency personnel. Both individuals were then taken to South Side EMS inside the stadium and both were later transported to a local hospital for further observation. These are all the details we have at this time."

WBFO News also received a statement from Bills President and CEO Russ Brandon on Monday:

“The irresponsible behavior that occurred at yesterday’s game by the fan who fell from the upper deck is a violation of our Fan Code of Conduct and cannot, and will not, be tolerated. This individual will not be permitted back into Ralph Wilson Stadium. The vast majority of our fans who attend Bills home games at Ralph Wilson Stadium do so in a responsible manner and we continue to work diligently to eliminate those individuals who violate our Fan Code of Conduct from game days at our stadium. We are cooperating with the Erie County Sheriff’s Office during their investigation of this incident and we want to extend our best wishes for a speedy recovery to the fan who was injured in the 200 level.”

The Erie County Sheriff's Department tells WBFO News an investigation into the incident continues. Authorities are not releasing the men's names because of the investigation and aren't commenting on their condition, citing privacy laws.

Media outlets are reporting that both men were treated at ECMC and released Sunday evening.
