Authorities are reporting that a Buffalo Police officer was injured while investigating suspicious activity on Saturday night. Department officials claim that an officer responded to a call about possible drug activity on the city's East Side. While investigating, the officer was struck in the head by a man who was also brandishing a knife. There is no report as to the extent of the injury, but the officer was treated and released from ECMC.
Six people were arrested in connection with the incident.
