Strong and potentially damaging winds will be blowing through Western New York tonight and into Monday. The National Weather Service is issuing high wind warnings for the Southern Tier beginning at 4 this afternoon and for the Niagara Frontier beginning at 7. Both warnings are scheduled to expire Monday afternoon. Wind gusts overnight could reach near 60 miles per hour.
The strong winds are also responsible for a lakeshore flood watch for the Lake Erie shoreline for Erie and Chautauqua Counties. That watch will begin this evening and last into Monday morning.
The winds will be accompanied by rain.
