Mercy Flight was called in response to an early morning accident in Niagara County. Sheriff's deputies report that a car struck the bridge spanning Twelve Mile Creek in Wilson just before 2 o'clock this morning. The driver of the car, 22-year-old Albert Giovannucci was found lying in a lawn near the accident site. He was conscious and complaining of injuries. Mercy Flight was called and Giovannucci was transported to ECMC where he is being treated.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the accident.
