Buffalo's Planning Board has given its approval to a major mixed-use complex on a busy downtown intersection. Uniland Development plans to build a 12-story hotel, office, and retail complex at the corner of Delaware Avenue and Chippewa Street. It would replace the existing Delaware Court building, which would be torn down.

According to The Buffalo News, the developer has agreed to make some changes to better accommodate the neighborhood. They include moving the building farther into the block, adding a bus stop canopy, and moving the parking ramp entrance.

The complex won unanimous board approval with a 5-0 vote.

The project next goes to the city's Zoning Board of Appeals later this month. It it gains all of the necessary approvals, Uniland hopes to begin construction January 1.
