To open its 2013-2014 season, the Jewish Repertory Theatre has chosen "A Life in the Theatre," written by David Mamet. "His writing, even in this play with a lot of humor, doesn't pull any punches," director Greg Natale said during a conversation with WBFO News.
Starring Saul Elkin and Adam Rath, "A Life in the Theatre" continues through October 13th at the Maxine and Robert Seller Theatre in the Jewish Community Center on North Forest Rd.
"You're in the dressing room with these two actors as they go through their daily life as actors together. There's a lot of really comical moments as the two get to know each other," Natale said
"The older actor, played by Saul Elkin, loves to let everyone know how intelligent he is and how long he's been in the theatre, so he tends to pontificate quite a bit."
"The younger actor played by Adam Rath does a beautiful job of being very enamored by him and wanting to learn everything he can. Little by little, as the play progresses, it becomes too much for him to bear because he starts to realize that he is the new lead actor in the company."
