A major investment is being made at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, both inside and out. The Seneca Gaming Corporation is pumping $26 million into the facility for upgrades to the main gaming floor and the square outside the casino.
$6 million is being spent on an HVAC upgrade for the 88,000 square-foot floor. Officials say the new system will dramatically improve air quality in the facility, where smoking is allowed.
There will also be a new Keno bar, a new bar and entertainment stage with a large high-definition video wall, and updates to carpeting and chairs.
Outside, $2.9 million will go into a "garden makeover" at what's called Seneca Square. The money will be used for new landscaping and improvements to the existing pedestrian bridge.
