The Eastman Kodak Company is announcing another cut in its manufacturing operations. Acetate base production will be shut down at the plant next week. The material is an essential part of photographic film. According to the Democrat and Chronicle, the company claims that it has stockpiled a large supply of acetate and that outside suppliers can be relied upon in the future. The move is expected to cost the loss of 61 jobs by the end of the summer.
The firm has previously announced that it is shifting away from the camera film aspect of its industry.
