A former Buffalo teacher, convicted of rape in March of 2009, has pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender in State Supreme Court. Cara Dickey, 34, was on parole after she served four years in prison for raping a 14-year-old male student. She removed her electronic monitoring bracelet and left her halfway house in January and was found by U.S. Marhsals in Chicago a month later.
Dickey, who taught at South Buffalo Charter School, failed to register and/or verify a change of address in a timely manner, as required by law. She faces a maximum of four additional years in prison at sentencing June 6.
