A guilty plea has been entered in the murder of a North Tonawanda woman. Brian Lowry has admitted to killing 34-year-old Heather Rylowicz in her home last November. Lowry had been released from jail after facing a drug charge when he brutally assaulted Rylowicz, slashing her throat and bludgeoning her with a sledgehammer. The two had been romantically connected.
Lowry is known to have psychiatric issues. He faces 15 years to life in prison when sentenced next month on a second-degree murder charge.
