State Assemblyman Ray Walter is urging that an investigation take place regarding the mistaken seizure of an Amherst man's guns. David Lewis had his 7 handguns seized and his pistol permit voided under the New York SAFE Act due to a mental health report. But he was mistaken for another David Lewis, who lives in a different part of the state. Walter wants to know how the mistake occurred and how to avoid similar problems.
Walter will be meeting with the State Police Superintendent in Albany this week.
