Amherst to rule on food trucks

WBFO File Photo

Legislators in the Town of Amherst will be considering regulations governing the operation of food trucks when they convene this week. Proposals include annual permit fees of $500 per truck, restrictions on operating locations, and background checks on truck operators. Vendors claim that the permit costs and the limit of one hour stops at any location are onerous.

An online petition has surfaced that supports the food trucks and the interests of their owners.
