Man shoots wife, self, sets home on fire

A violent scene played out Monday night in Orleans County. Authorities say a man shot his wife, set their home on fire, and then shot himself. Both people survived the gunshots and are being treated at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

The incidents happened around 7 p.m. in the Town of Kendall, on Lake Ontario. The Orleans County Sheriff's Office says Dennis Buehler, 64, shot Linda Buehler, 58, in the shoulder at their home. Linda escaped and went to a nearby home for help.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the Buehler's house had been set on fire. Dennis Buehler then walked outside at shot himself in the face.  He is said to be in satisfactory condition.  His wife's condition is unreleased.

Police say the man faces numerous charges.
