A record number of green-clad runners took part in the Shamrock Run on Saturday. Organizers are boasting that 5500 runners took part in the 8K race that directs participants through the roadways of the city's Old First Ward. It was the 35th year for the annual event. One reason for the record turnout was that a 5K fun walk was added to the traditional race.
Monies raised help support the Old First Ward Community Association.
