The body of an elderly woman was discovered this morning near railroad tracks on Buffalo's East side. Buffalo police responded to a call just after 9 a.m Wednesday in the vicinity of Walden and Bailey Avenues. The body was found by an employee of CSX Railroad near the foot of Wex Street, 20 yards from the railroad tracks.
Homicide detectives are investigating. The woman is in the process of being identified. An autopsy will determine the cause of death.
It is believed the body may be that of a missing 84-year-old woman who was last seen Sunday.
