A California businessman is claiming that New York State missed out on millions in revenue with its new contract with the Maid of the Mist. The Buffalo News reports Terry MacCrae, owner of Hornblower Cruises, claims that the state refused to hear an offer of more than $100 million for the rights to the cruises on the American side.

Hornblower will be operating cruises from the Canadian side of the falls. The state claims that they have increased payments from Maid of the Mist for preserving their rights.

MacCrae claims that the state's deal is tentative and that a lawsuit might be filed to force the state to consider his proposal.
