The Diocese of Buffalo ordained its first married priest on Saturday. John Cornelius, a 64-year-old husband and father, was welcomed into the priesthood at the Immaculate Conception church in Wellsville. Cornelius, a former Episcopal Priest, converted to Catholicism two years ago.
A ruling last year by Pope Benedict has relaxed some rules about the ordination of married priests.
