Windy winter day

WBFO News photo by Eileen Buckley

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for all of Western New York until 6 p.m. Friday.Winds will be 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts of up to 50 miles an hour.  The winds have the potential to bring down tree branches and cause damage to power lines. In addition, forecasters say the strong winds may make it difficult to handle high profile vehicles.

The strong winds could also cause blowing and drifting snow in some area reducing viability at times.
