There will be a change in top leadership at The Buffalo News on January 1 when longtime publisher Stanford Lipsey steps down. WBFO's Eileen Buckley spoke with Lipsey this week.
Lipsey arrived in Buffalo in 1980 when he was hired by Buffalo News owner and billionaire Warren Buffett. Two years later he was named publisher just as the Courier-Express newspaper folded.

WBFO'S Eileen Buckley met with Lispey at his office to discuss his 32-year career at the News. Lipsey was asked how the digital age will change the future of print.
"I would say as a print product, we will be one of the last papers to cut out print in the country," said Lipsey.
The 85-year-old Lipsey will become publisher emeritus of the paper. News president Warren Colville will succeed him.
