Local preservationists may be on the verge of losing their battle to save the former Bethlehem Steel Administration Building in Lackawanna.
The building's current owner, Gateway Trade Center, has hired a local contractor to demolish the century-old structure.
According to The Buffalo News, the demolition could begin Friday on the building which has been vacant since 1983.
Those trying to save the structure say Gateway officials have not cooperated with their efforts to have the building placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
