Authorities at area historical societies and small galleries are on alert for a pair of thieves.
Michael and Roy Ortiz are known culprits who have stolen hundreds of items from these institutions over the past few years. The pair are on the move, having been spotted in Rochester, Jamestown and Lockport, potentially canvassing collections for another heist.
Both brothers have been arrested in the past, and many institutions are taking steps to be prepared for a possible strike by them.
