Plans for a new waterfront football stadium are making the rounds in City Hall.
Officials with the Greater Buffalo Sports and Entertainment Complex will present their plans for a 72,000-seat retractable roof stadium to the Buffalo Common Council's Community Development Committee this afternoon.
According to The Buffalo News, the stadium is the centerpiece of a $1.4 billion project on Outer Harbor land owned by the NFTA. Planners envision the complex being a year-round attraction by including a sports and culture museum operated by Rochester's Strong National Museum of Play.
So far, the company admits they have not reached out to the Buffalo Bills or lined up political support for the project, which would also need NFL approval.
