An elderly Newfane woman was rescued after falling into a ravine on Thursday.

Eighty-six year old Beverly Blewett slipped while raking leaves in her lawn near 18 Mile Creek. She was able to catch and to hang onto a tree after falling 30 feet. It took approximately an hour for Blewett to catch a neighbors attention and for help to be called.

Niagara County firefighters rescued her. She was treated for minor injuries at ECMC.
