Police officer struck and injured by motorist

A West Seneca police officer was struck by a vehicle and injured outside of the West Seneca High School on Friday.

Neither the officer nor the driver of the vehicle have been identified, though the driver has been recognized as a student at the school. The accident occurred in the late morning hours as the officer was directing traffic near the school's parking lot. An investigation into the event is continuing.

The officer is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at ECMC.
