Local gas prices reach record levels

Western New York drivers are feeling the pinch of local gas prices which continue to surge well above the national trend.

The average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline stands at $4.10, representing a rise a 2.4 cents in the last week. The national average increased by .8 of a cent.

The local price is 13 cents higher than a month ago and 44 cents higher than last year at this time.

According to Buffalo Gas Prices.com, some Californians are paying over $5 for a gallon of gas after seeing the average price jump 88 cents in the last year.
