The story behind the death of 10-year-old Abdifatah Mohamud was played out in State Supreme Court on Friday.
The evidentiary hearing was called by Judge Christopher Burns. Six police officers and detectives testified about information gathered at the scene. Mohamud, a fifth grader at the International Preparatory School, was bound and beaten to death by his stepfather in the family home's basement. Ali Mohamed Mohamud is charged in the child's death.
He claims he beat the boy because he lied about his homework.
