Cattaraugus County SPCA accused of animal abuse

Protesters made their way to the doors of the Cattaraugus County SPCA in the town of Hinsdale Sunday to assail the agency's practices.

"Outright animal crulety," is the characterization provided by Morgan Dunbar of Animal Allies of WNY.

"I've never seen anything like it with my own eyes. It's beyond imagination. There are animals languishing with hideous illnesses."

Dunbar shared her thoughts in an interview with WBFO and AM970's Eileen Buckley.

A call for comment was not returned by the Cattaraugus County SPCA.

Board member Kris McDonald told cable news outlet YNN the protests were "nothing more than a witch hunt."

Over recent months, conditions at SPCA's in Niagara County and in Attica have shocked supporters and led to the ouster of top-ranked officials.

"The letters SPCA mean absolutely nothing. There's no oversight agency," Dunbar said.
