WBFO/AM 970 News

Authorities have established that the headless torso discovered in the Niagara Gorge last week is that of Loretta Jo Gates.

Investigators made the connection through DNA testing. Gates, a 30-year-old mother of three, was last seen at a store near Niagara Avenue and Main Street in Niagara Falls in the early hours of August 26th. Authorities are seeking the public's help in solving the case. Anyone with information is asked to call 716-286-4553.

Police do not believe that this homicide is connected to other bodies recently discovered in the Niagara River.
