A two-alarm fire on Buffalo's East side damaged numerous buildings and injured four firefighters.
Calls arrived just before 4 PM on Saturday of a blaze at an auto shop at Bailey and Hewitt Avenues. The fire soon spread to three neighboring houses, causing significant damage. Embers from the original blaze are thought to have sparked minor fires as far as two block away.
Four firefighters were taken to ECMC for treatment of heat exhaustion and for burns.
The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
