Questions continue to surface regarding the delayed completion of the new splash pad at Martin Luther King Park.
The state of the art facility was scheduled to open on July first. Some residents are insinuating that racial differences are causing the delay, but contractors claim that materials used in the construction are a challenge to work with and the process is taking longer than anticipated.
The five-acre, $4.5 million project will be provide recreational possibilities during all seasons.
