Victims of Bolivar fire identified

The three victims of a house fire in Allegany County have been identified.

Forty-two-year-old Tina Kemp and two of her grandchildren, 2-year-old Jessica Holmes and 3-year-old Eric Holmes, died in the fast moving fire on Horse Run Road in the Town of Bolivar Sunday.

The house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived around 4:15 a.m. Sunday. Officials say there were apparently no working smoke detectors in the house, which might have made a difference.

Two other people escaped from the fire -- 62-year-old Terry Green, a friend of Kemp, and 1-year-old Charles Holmes, another of Kemp's grandchildren. They were treated at Olean General Hospital for smoke inhalation and released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials say the blaze was so extensive that a cause might not be determined.
