Wilson house had second propane tank

File photo

As the investigation into last week's deadly house explosion in the Town of Wilson continues, NOCO Energy Corp., which had a propane tank outside of the Chestnut Road home, is clarifying its presence on the property.

NOCO President James Newman, in a statement, says the company did have a propane tank at the house, but he says it was disconnected prior to the explosion.  Newman says there was a second tank connected to the house, which was leveled by the blast.  That tank was neither installed nor operated by the company.

14-year-old Sarah Johnson was killed when a propane leak ignited last Tuesday morning.  Several family members were hospitalized.

Newman expressed the company's "deepest sympathies" to the Johnsons, saying their thoughts and prayers are with the family.
