One of the mainstays of the local theater community is being remembered with the establishment of a foundation in his name.
The Neil E. Garvey Foundation for the Arts will focus its fundraising efforts to support the many theater companies with which Garvey performed over the years.
The first of those fundraisers, the "Midsummer Night's Picnic," takes place at 5pm Thursday at the Marcy Casino in Delaware Park.
A summer mainstay at Shakespeare at Delaware Park, Neil Garvey died in February.
