Fundraising for Governor Andrew Cuomo's 2014 campaign account is going well, and some Western New Yorkers are being generous.
At least ten local donors have contributed a minimum of $20 thousand each. The News reports that local residents have provided the Governor more than one half of a million dollars toward a total of nearly $6 million that he has raised just this year. Much of this money is flowing from individuals who have legal, development and commercial interests before the state government.
The Governor has previously spoken against state campaign finance laws that allow for large donations from special interests.
