Two major supermarket chains are easing their mask requirements in connection with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and New York state.
Wegmans says fully vaccinated customers are no longer required to wear a face covering at its New York stores. Tops also issued a statement this week saying face coverings are optional for people who are fully vaccinated.
Tops adds that unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear a face covering; that includes anyone age 2 and over and anyone medically able to tolerate a face covering.
Neither Wegmans nor Tops will require shoppers to show proof of vaccination.
