COVID quarantine length reduced from 14 to 10 days

Erie County has changed its COVID-19 quarantine guidelines.

On Monday, the county Department of Health announced it made the change based on an update from the New York State Department of Health.

The length of quarantine has been reduced from 14 to 10 days if no symptoms have been reported following a possible COVID exposure.

The county Health Department continues to strongly recommend that anyone who is a close or household contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case get a diagnostic test 5-7 days after the date of last exposure.

If symptoms develop during isolation, individuals should self-isolate immediately and contact their healthcare provider or local public health officials for further instructions.

Mark Wozniak, WBFO's local All Things Considered host, has been at WBFO since mid-1978.
