Niagara County Social Services staff under quarantine

The Niagara County Department of Social Services has confirmed about a dozen COVID-19 positive tests among DSS employees in Niagara Falls. More tests are still pending.

Due to those results, the Niagara County Health Department has quarantined all employees of the second floor of its Tenth Street office, where the outbreak was discovered. Deep cleanings were performed at the DSS offices in both Niagara Falls and Lockport, and the DSS is working with the Health Department to ensure that their services continue to be made available to the public.

COVID-19 protocols have been in place and are continuing. The public must make an appointment to meet with DSS employees unless in an emergency situation, and both visitors and employees must undergo temperature checks and other procedures.

Mark Wozniak, WBFO's local All Things Considered host, has been at WBFO since mid-1978.
