Chautauqua County reports COVID-19 cluster at Fredonia club

Jason Erick / Fredonia Beaver Club

Health officials in Chautauqua County have reported seven new positive coronavirus infections that are linked to a social club in the northern part of the county.

The Fredonia Beaver Club closed Saturday, for two weeks of deep cleaning and to ensure proper COVID-19 precautionary measures are enacted.

Anyone who visited the club over the past two weeks is advised to be extra vigilant with social distancing, masking and hand washing, and should contact their health care provider if COVID-19 symptoms develop. Those who test positive are ordered into mandatory isolation and anyone who was a close contact of a positive case is ordered into a mandatory quarantine.

In response to the recent clusters in northern Chautauqua County, there will be a rapid testing clinic Thursday 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on the Dunkirk Training Grounds at 665 Brigham Rd. in Dunkirk. Testing is free, although an appointment must be made first.
