St. Joseph Hospital discharges 500th COVID-19 survivor

Catholic Health

Catholic Health has announced it has passed a milestone in its care of coronavirus patients in Western New York.

The 500th patient to be discharged from their COVID-19 Treatment Facility at St. Joseph's Campus in Cheektowaga went home this week after spending four days at the facility.

The St. Joseph's site opened on March 26 as the region's only dedicated facility for the treatment of coronavirus. Three weeks later, Catholic Health opened the St. Joseph Post-Acute Center in Orchard Park to provide post-hospital care.

Combined, Catholic Health said its network of hospitals and facilities has discharged more than 900 COVID-19 patients since the early days of the pandemic in late February.
