Photographs of patients and caregivers at Oishei Children's Hospital have been selected for inclusion in a national exhibit that will travel the country and be displayed in the nation's capital.
The photos, taken by Kaleida Health Medical Photographer Joe Cascio, were selected after a national competition for the 2019-2020 Children’s Hospitals Photo Exhibit. The competition was judged by a distinguished panel of judges, including renowned photographer and author Anne Geddes, National Geographic Kids and the Children's Hospital Association.
Three of Casio's photos will be in the online exhibit. Two of the three will be part of a "Top Ten" collection that will be printed in large format and travel the country. All photos highlight the ways the hospitals help children thrive and include the stories behind the photos, "allowing viewers to read first-hand accounts from patients, parents, doctors and other health care providers."
