Niagara County welcomes new urgent care option

Five Star Urgent Care
Officials cut the ribbon on Five Star Urgent Care's new Niagara Falls location, the second in Western New York.

Niagara County has a new urgent care option. Five Star Urgent Care cut the ribbon on its new facility at 7432 Niagara Falls Blvd. in Niagara Falls Wednesday and is now serving walk-ins and other patients from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.

Five Star President John Radford said the facility offers onsite x-rays, lab testing and diagnostics and evening and weekend care, while up-to-date wait times can be viewed online.

“Five Star Urgent Care is extremely excited to open our doors in Niagara County and provide the community with our established customer-focused method to healthcare,” said Five Star President John Radford. “Our team shares a vision of helping save the day when injuries and illnesses arise by providing comfortable and convenient care for patients, from the time they walk in the door until the time they leave.”

Assemblymember Angelo Morinello, among the officials at the ribbon cutting, said the facility is an "important" option for non-emergency illnesses and injuries, as the cost of health care continues to rise.

“Our community is very pleased that Five Star Urgent Care chose Niagara Falls for its next location," said the Niagara County Republican. "With medical expenses continually increasing, it is important that there are convenient and affordable options such as this facility. It is a perfect bridge for non-emergency illnesses or injuries and good quality care for the patients."

Launched in 2012, Five Star Urgent Care opened its first location in Big Flats, NY and joins the growing urgent care marketplace. The company expects to continue its expansion with additional facilities throughout the state in 2018, including in Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Hamburg and Dunkirk. Its other Western New York location is currently in Jamestown.
