24-hour opioid hotline goes live

A new 24-hour, 365-day-a year hotline aimed at addressing Erie County's opioid addiction epidemic went live Monday morning.

With its 24-hour hotline infrastructure in place since 1968, Crisis Services was awarded the contract to take on being the community access point for help, support and immediate linkage to services for those struggling with addiction.

The hotline will also assist in supporting other Erie County Opiate Epidemic Task Force efforts, as developed. The hotline number is (716) 831-7007.

Funding for the hotline comes from the Erie County Department of Mental Health. Crisis Services provides help for individuals and families facing any and all types of crisis, including emergency mental needs, suicide prevention, domestic violence, rape, sexual assault, elder abuse and access to community-wide resources.
