Roswell Park gala honors Kelly family

One of Buffalo's foremost football families was honored on Saturday night for their efforts to spread cancer awareness and promote advocacy.

Jim and Jill Kelly, along with their children, were recognized at Roswell Park Cancer Institute's All Star Night.

Kelly, a former Buffalo Bill and Hall of Fame Quarterback, was diagnosed with oral cancer in 2013. He and his family have shared their battle with the disease through national media and a campaign called "Kelly Tough."

The black-tie gala event raised more than a half-million dollars for Roswell Park.

Avery began his broadcasting career as a disc jockey for WRUB, the University at Buffalo’s student-run radio station.
