If you were downtown Saturday morning, you may have noticed a sea of people dressed in pink and ready to take action. The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk was held at Canalside.
Over ten thousand Western New Yorkers gathered to raise money toward the fight against cancer. This year the walk raised $470,000 to go towards research, free and comprehensive information and support to those affected by the disease; and assisting people to take steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.
Since 1993 over 11 million people have supported the walk raising over $685 million across the nation. Last year's walk brought almost 10,000 supporters raising over half a million dollars.
