Nurses at Erie County Medical Center have overwhelmingly voted in favor of a new seven-year labor contract. The new labor pact runs through 2018. It provides annual raises, retroactive to January 2012.
The contract covers 913 nurses at ECMC and in the Terrace View Long Term Care facility. Nurses have been working without a contract since their old one expired in December 2011.
The new contract replaces one that ran from January 1, 2005 through December 31, 2011.
Also included is a so-called "clinical ladder," which gives registered nurses the opportunity for an incentivized professional enrichment program.
