Kaleida urges employees to report to hospitals in storm

WBFO News photos by Eileen Buckley

Kaleida Health is urging employees to report to their shifts Tuesday evening. That includes doctors, nurses, dietitians, and other employees. Employees living in areas that are under travel bans should carry their Kaleida identification.

“Our workforce has responded so well during this winter storm,” said James Kaskie, President and CEO of Kaleida Health. “From the nurses who stayed overnight to the employees who braved the drive in, the commitment to being here for our patients has been wonderful.”

Kaskie said volume at Kaledia's four area hospital emergency rooms was higher Tuesday.

But Kaleida says there was no spike in hypothermia cases or snow blower injuries.

All scheduled and emergency surgery cases have been proceeding at the hospitals include Buffalo General, Millard Fillmore and Women and Childrens.
